We’re honoured to have this construction industry specialist as a member of FW Armagh. We spoke with Director, James Willis, about the decision to join Formation Works and the experience they have had to date.
Tell us about your experience in the Construction Industry.
Myself and fellow Director, Conor McClelland, together share 40 years of experience in the construction industry. My background as a Quantity Surveyor and Contracts Manager focusses on the commercial aspect of the business. Whilst Conor’s years of experience in the provision of Brickwork, Blockwork, Architectural Masonry & Stonework in both hand-set and pre-cast solutions, allow Mount White to be well placed to deliver the results required in today’s construction industry. We’re committed to providing clients with a wide range of options. and we feel this combination achieves the perfect blend of experience to offer clients an exceptional service.
What made you choose Armagh as the location for your practice?
Armagh is central between our two main construction hubs, Dublin and Belfast with easy access to M1 North and South. Also, its only a 15-minute drive for Conor!!
What was it that appealed to you specifically about the Formation Works building?
When we were looking for an office, we had a recommendation from a friend to view Formation works offices. The high spec interior, office fit out and meeting room facilities were top notch! Everyone who has come to meet us in our new office has commented on the great office facilities on display.
We also hire storage containers for plant and materials so to have this facility onsite has been a great advantage to us.
Talk to us about the nature of a share office space – do you find it a plus to have other businesses in the same building? Has it helped develop your client base for example?
A bonus of setting up our head office in Formation Works is that we know a lot of the companies and faces sharing this great building. We have been fortunate to swap contacts for potential clients in our short time here and that has enabled us to source more work and ultimately grow our business.
Do you find the Formation Works team easy to deal with?
All the Formation Works staff have been friendly and very easy to deal with. Anything we have asked for to date is never a problem.
If someone was considering moving into a Formation Works property what would your advice be?
For a relatively young business an office space can be a frightening undertaking but the flexibility of the service and options available in Formation Works massively mitigate the risks and costs. The examples of other small businesses using the space is testimony to same. It’s also great to see companies starting in small spaces and growing in a relatively short space of time.
